Filmdom's Laurence Fishburne (most recently on Broadway in The Lion In Winter) and actor Obba Babatunde ("Life," Dreamgirls, Jelly's Last Jam) flank playwright August Wilson, whose Jitney gave a benefit performance for his African Grove Institute for the Arts April 8. African Grove Institute for the Arts, founded by Wilson and Dartmouth College professors Victor Walker and William Cook, hosts regional and local seminars throughout the United States with the goal of strengthening African-American theatre companies by helping them identify and overcome artistic and financial problems.
