Ethan McSweeny directs a cast that features Nancy Anderson, David Burnham, Deborah S. Craig and Nick Gabriel. The production plays at South Coast Repertory's Julianne Argyros Stage through Jan. 24. According to production notes, "Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives are unexpectedly interconnected by circumstance. The series of funny and fortuitous events in this intimate, fast-paced musical proves that ordinary days can be simply extraordinary."
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
Based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the new musical will reunite Guettel with Tony-winning Light in the Piazza director Bartlett Sher.
