Veteran stage star Barnard Hughes was feted by the Actors Fund Feb. 25, whose gala guest list included Sam Waterstone, Alec Baldwin and Celeste Holm. The Theatre Hall of Famer was last on Broadway in 2000, starring in Waiting in the Wings. He won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics awards for playing the title role in Da (a role he recreated on film). Other memorable roles include the Old Man in Broadway's Prelude to a Kiss (Baldwin appeared in the film version), Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, for which he received a Tony nomination Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Polonius in Hamlet. — By Christine Ehren
