News PHOTO CALL: Iraqi Women Are Heard as MET's Nine Parts of Desire Opens Manhattan Ensemble Theater, producers of Broadway's Golda's Balcony, are now presenting the American premiere of Heather Raffo's Nine Parts of Desire Off-Broadway.

The play, written and performed by Raffo, presents an assortment of Iraqi women, from outspoken painter to London exile to wise street peddler, in an evening of connected monologues. Raffo is seen below with director Joanna Settle at the post-opening reception, held at MET on Mercer Street in New York City's Soho neighborhood.

Nine Parts of Desire is scheduled to run through Nov. 14.
