The work borrows scenes from five of Ernest Hemingway’s stories: "Cat in the Rain," "A Pursuit Race," "The Three Day Blow," "The End of Something" and "To Have and Have Not," and brings them to the stage for the first time, with Cole Porter songs. Though her celebrated father-in-law portrayed most of his female characters in a bothersome light, Carol Hemingway presents them as the foundation to accomplishment and geniality.
