News PHOTO CALL: "It's Possible!" New Cinderella Stars Keke Palmer, Sherri Shepherd and Judy Kaye Greet the Press Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Judy Kaye will take on the role of Fairy Godmother Marie in the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.. Kaye joins actress Keke Palmer and "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd, who begin performances in the Tony-nominated production this month.

Kaye (Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Phantom of the Opera, Souvenir) will take on the role of Cinderella's fairy godmother, beginning Sept. 12. She replaces original cast member Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza). Clark, who departs the production, Sept. 11, received a Tony Award nomination for her performance.

Palmer ("Just Keke" "Trip to Bountiful," "Akeelah and the Bee," Joyful Noise") and Shepherd ("30 Rock") will take on the roles of Cinderella and wicked step mother Madame, respectively, beginning Sept. 9.

Cinderella currently features Paige Faure as Cinderella, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Nancy Opel as Madame, Ann Harada as stepsister Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson as stepsister Gabrielle, Peter Bartlett as Sebastian, Prince Topher's mentor and Lord Chancellor, Todd Buonopane as the rebel Jean-Michel and Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton.

Cinderella has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw, with choreography by Josh Rhodes, music adaptation, supervision and arrangements by David Chase and orchestrations by Danny Troob. Constantine Kitsopoulos is currently music director and conductor. Cinderella is produced by Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman, Stephen Kocis, Edward Walson, Venetian Glass Productions, The Araca Group, Luigi Caiola & Rose Caiola, Roy Furman, Walt Grossman, Peter May/Sanford Robertson, Glass Slipper Productions/Eric Schmidt, Ted Liebowitz/James Spry, Blanket Fort Productions and is produced in association with Center Theatre Group.
