NewsPHOTO CALL: Janie Dee Stars in London's The King and IJanie Dee stars as Anna in a new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, being staged as this year's Christmas attraction at the U.K.'s Curve Theatre in Leicester.

Paul Kerryson directs a cast that also includes Chook Sibtain as the King. Dee has previously starred in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel at the National Theatre, as well as The Sound of Music and South Pacific at Sheffield Crucible. She has also starred in Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential both in the West End and Off Broadway at MTC.
In addition to Dee and Sibtain, the cast also features Claire-Marie Hall, Adrian Li Donni, Maya Sapone, Nicholas Goh, Gary Wood, Alison Guill, Simon Archer, Lisa Dent, Charlotte Humphrey, Sayaka Ichikawa, Aiko Kato, Makoto Leahy, Kristopher Mitchell, Rowan Lewis Mitchell, Stefanie Mourant, Samantha Tan and Craig Turbyfield. They are joined by a rotating company of three teams drawn from 60 children from Leicester and the surrounding county, cast from open auditions held during the summer.
The Max Martin musical features a number of his most beloved songs, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Roar,” “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and more.
