The performance, which began at 7 PM, comprised the songs of composer-lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh. Bisen-Hersh was joined on stage by Karmine Alers, Justin Barnette, Elyse Beyer, Brian Childers, Dana Costello, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Westley Todd Holiday, Teresa Hui, Lara Janine, Aaron Keller, Miriam Kushel, Melissa Mitchell, Rori Nogee, Cassie Okenka, David Perlman, Adam Shapiro, Stacy Shirk and Haley Swindal.
The audience heard 19 songs from Bisen-Hersh's catalog, including "Um, Yeah...", "Dear Facebook", "It's Not You, It's Me", "Can You Believe I Was Ever Sad We Broke Up?" and the popular youtube hit, "Hey!"
All the proceeds from the evening go to the Humane Society of New York, which has "cared for animals in need when illness, injury or homelessness strikes" for over 100 years. The Humane Society saved the life of Bisen-Hersh's cat, Smee, 2009, and this annual benefit is his way of saying thanks.
The new jukebox musical featuring the songs of Huey Lewis and the News follows a Chicagoan whose failed band leads to him returning to corporate America.
