News PHOTO CALL: Kristin Chenoweth Honored with The Goodspeed Award On Aug. 11, Alan Cumming accepted The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical theatre on behalf of honoree Kristin Chenoweth. Chenoweth (Wicked, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown) was unable to attend the gala due to her ongoing recovery from injuries sustained on the set of "The Good Wife" in July.

Broadway, film and television star Cumming appeared in the 1999 TV movie of "Annie" with Chenoweth and is a co-star on "The Good Wife". The performance portion of the evening was hosted by Tony and Grammy-nominated composer Andrew Lippa, Chenoweth's friend and colleague. They were joined by Goodspeed Musicals alums Kirsten Wyatt and Khris Lewin.

Goodspeed Musicals also honored the Hoffman Auto Group, which received the inaugural Goodspeed Musicals Arts & Business Partnership Award, an honor bestowed upon a prominent member of the Connecticut business community who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the arts and culture.
