Following an award-winning run in London, Lee Hall's The Pitmen Players was just announced to open on Broadway this fall as part of Manhattan Theatre Club's 2010-2011 season.
Directed by Max Roberts, The Pitmen Players is described by press materials as a "humorous, deeply moving and timely look at art, class, and politics. The play tells the story of the Ashington Group – miners from Northumberland who became celebrated painters."
