News PHOTO CALL: Mandy Patinkin Stars in Rinne Groff's Compulsion at Yale Rep Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin stars with Hannah Cabell and Stephen Turner in Rinne Groff's Compulsion at Yale Repertory Theatre.

Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis directs the three-person drama that plays at Yale Rep through Feb. 28. The production will then perform at Berkeley Rep before heading to Off-Broadway's The Public Theater. Groff's Compulsion centers on "Sid Silver [who] wants nothing more than to bring Anne Frank's story to an American audience, and he believes he's the right man to translate the young girl's diary and adapt it for the stage," according to show notes. "But his passion spirals into a lifelong obsession when a New York publishing house reveals its own plans for what would become one of the most powerful and enduring documents of the 20th century."

The production also features puppeteers Emily DeCola, Liam Hurley, and Eric Wright.
