Shortly before his "official" New Year's Eve duties were to commence a little further down Times Square, Mayor Bloomberg and Commissioner Kelly enjoyed a holiday performance of the Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical at the Snapple Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater (50th Street at Broadway). Immediately following the performance, Commissioner Kelly escorted the Mayor to his post, where he released the ball just moments before midnight at the 100th New Year's Eve Celebration in NYC's Times Square.
