News PHOTO CALL: Memphis Film Premiere, Starring Montego Glover and Chad Kimball The high-definition film of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Memphis premiered April 25 at the Regal Union Square Theatre in New York. The film will rock cinemas across the country for a limited four-day engagement beginning April 28.

Memphis marks the first musical to be filmed live and released in U.S. cinemas while concurrently running on Broadway. It was filmed in front of a live audience, with its original cast, at the Shubert Theatre.

The musical about an interracial love affair in the 1950s segregated South stars Tony Award nominees Chad Kimball and Montego Glover. Bon Jovi songwriter and band member David Bryan and Joe DiPietro penned the score to Memphis, which is flavored with gospel, R&B, rock and soul sounds. 

Memphis will be presented April 28, 30 and May 3 at 7:30 PM and May 1 at 12:30 PM. The film also includes behind-the-scenes footage from the performance.
