New Images of Cinderella's Carly Rae Jepsen and Fran Drescher


As previously announced, multi-platinum pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and film and television star Fran Drescher will join the cast as Cinderella and her stepmother Madame, respectively.

On Jan. 28 Todd Buonopane replaced original cast member Greg Hildreth as the rebel Jean-Michel, and ensemble member Stephanie Gibson replaced Marla Mindelle as stepsister Gabrielle. Kaitlyn Davidson joined the ensemble as well.

Tony Award winner Victoria Clark returned to the role of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother Marie Jan. 21. (Tony nominee Rebecca Luker had performed that role since September.) Joe Carroll, the new Prince, comes to Cinderella directly from the recent Broadway revival of Romeo and Juliet, where he played Balthazar and understudied Romeo. He also appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Once.

Currently playing at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway in NYC), Cinderella began previews in January 2013 and opened March 3.

Cinderella has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw. Josh Rhodes is choreographer. Music adaptation, supervision and arrangements are by David Chase. Orchestrations are by Danny Troob. Andy Einhorn is music director and conductor.

Alessa Neeck currently stars in the title role.

Cinderella is produced by Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman, Stephen Kocis, Edward Walson, Venetian Glass Productions, The Araca Group, Luigi Caiola & Rose Caiola, Roy Furman, Walt Grossman, Peter May/Sanford Robertson, Glass Slipper Productions/Eric Schmidt, Ted Liebowitz/James Spry, Blanket Fort Productions and is produced in association with Center Theatre Group.
