News PHOTO CALL: New York City Cemetery Gets Theatrical Treatment in New Musical at the York The York Theatre Company, which recently scored a hit with its production of Thrill Me, began performances of the new musical A Fine & Private Place, which takes place in a New York City cemetery, on April 11.

The show, set in the northern most Bronx burrough of New York City, is by Erik Haagensen and Richard Isen (adapted from the novel by Peter S. Beagle) and follows the reclusive Jonathan Rebeck – who lives in the cemetery – and his relationship with a talking raven who aids him in his job of helping "newly arrived ghosts to accept death,” according to production notes. Below, some of the cast members are seen during a recent rehearsal at the famous Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, which was the inspiration for the play’s setting.
