For the first time in repertory theatre history all ten plays that make up Noel Coward's Tonight at 8:30 are being presented at Ontario's Shaw Festival.
The short plays are being performed in sets of three, with the tenth, the rarely produced Star Chamber, as a standalone event. The first trio, entitled Brief Encounters, comprises the works Still Life, We Were Dancing and Hands Across the Sea. Jackie Maxwell directs.
Christopher Newton stages the Play, Orchestra, Play program, which includes Red Peppers, Fumed Oak and Shadow Play.
