News PHOTO CALL: Playwrights Horizons Gets Messy with Opening of Spatter Pattern Spatter Pattern, a new play by Neal Bell and directed by Micheal Grief (Rent), celebrated its opening night at Playwrights Horizons on Oct. 10.

Spatter Pattern (or, How I Got Away With It) "tracks the story of a screenwriter who becomes entangled in the life of a university professor under investigation for a grisly murder. What begins as self-interest soon gives way to empathy, and a bond between men from seemingly opposite worlds inexorably deepens." Seen below is star Peter Frechette, Patricia Clarkson and David Warren at the opening night party at the West Bank Cafe on 42nd Street in New York City.

Spatter Pattern is scheduled to run through Oct. 24.
