NewsPHOTO CALL: Primary Stages' Him Meets The PressTim Hopper, Adam LeFevre and Adina Verson will join Tony Award nominee Hallie Foote in the Primary Stages production of Him, a new play by Daisy Foote, which will debut Off-Broadway Sept. 25. The cast and creative team met the press on Sept. 10.
Evan Yionoulis (The Violet Hour) will stage the world premiere of the drama that will run through Oct. 28. It officially opens Oct. 9.
Hopper (CQ/CX), LeFevre (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Verson (The Winter's Tale) and Foote (Dividing the Estate; Harrison, TX) complete the cast.
According to Primary Stages, "In the tradition of great American plays, Daisy Foote explores the institution of the American family in Him. Two siblings struggling to keep the family store afloat must decide which is a priority: their father's final wishes or their financial stability. It's a choice that could tear them apart."
The production will have scenic design by Marion Willians, costume design by Teresa Snider-Stein, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau and music and sound by Broken Chord.
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
Based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the new musical will reunite Guettel with Tony-winning Light in the Piazza director Bartlett Sher.
