Mary Louise Parker collected a Drama League Award for herself and her play, Proof, at the May 11 ceremony. The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe's Lily Tomlin presented two of the awards.
2001's top Drama League Awards went to Proof and The Producers with Distinguished Revival going to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Other awards went to Mary Louise Parker and Gary Sinise for performance, Jack O'Brien for directing, Susan Stroman for outstanding achievement in the musical theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company of Chicago for outstanding contribution to the theatre.
