News PHOTO CALL: Pullman and Ivey’s Subject Is Roses at Rehearsal in NYC The Kennedy Center’s upcoming production of The Subject Was Roses, starring Bill Pullman and Judith Ivey, is in the midst of its rehearsal process in New York City, before opening on Jan. 12 in Washington D.C.

The Frank Gilroy Pulitzer Prize winning drama is, according to production notes, “about a young veteran's strained relationship with his parents” and stars Pullman (The Goat, or Who is Slyvia) and two-time Tony Award winner Ivey (Steaming, Hurlyburly), along with newcomer Steve Kazee. Below, producer Jeffrey Finn, director Leonard Foglia (On Golden Pond), Pullman, Ivey and Kazee are seen at a rehearsal for The Subject Was Roses at the Manhattan Club Theatre Studios on West 43rd Street in Manhattan.
