Arthur Laurents and Lauren Bacall told stories from the life of legendary lyricist Adolph Green at his Dec. 3 memorial at the Shubert Theatre. Laurents co-wrote Hallelujah, Baby! with Green and his partner, Betty Comden, while Bacall starred in Applause, which had a book by Comden and Green.

Green, Broadway lyricist-librettist and screenwriter who, with Comden, created On the Town, Bells Are Ringing, On the 20th Century and "Singin' in the Rain," died Oct. 24.
