Director Robert Falls and Tim Rice were happy to see their Aida open March 23 on Broadway after the somewhat troubled Chicago run of the show. Rice is pictured with Deborah Gibson, a past pop diva and former Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

With music by pop star Elton John and lyrics from Rice, Disney's Aida, the tragic tale of love between Nubian slave and an Egyptian warrior betrothed to another, opened March 23 at the Palace Theatre. Headley stars as the doomed slave girl with Pascal as her lover. Scott plays Pascal's fiancee, an Egyptian princess.
