A basic retelling of the last days of Jesus Christ, Godspell, which features the hit "Day by Day," "Save the People" and "Learn Your Lessons Well" has been staged by Third Eye Rep as a hippie-free, contemporary version with new lyrics by Schwartz, new arrangements and updated dialogue. Godspell runs at the Theatre at Saint Peter's Church, where performances began July 18.
