News PHOTO CALL: Sixteen 2012 Tony Nominees Pose on Top of the Empire State Building Sixteen actors and actresses nominated for 2012 Tony Awards ascended to the top of the Empire State Building for a June 5 photo op.

Tom Edden, Judy Kaye, Phillip Boykin, Condola Rashad, Jeremy Shamos, David Alan Grier, Kelli O'Hara, James Earl Jones, Judith Light, Spencer Kayden, Norm Lewis, Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan took the elevator over 1,000 feet to the Observatory over Midtown Manhattan.

Sixteen 2012 Tony Nominees Pose on Top of the Empire State Building


The Tony Awards, celebrating excellence in Broadway theatre in the 2011-12 season, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre on the CBS television network June 10. Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris will again host.

Once, the new musical based on the film of the same name, earned 11 Tony nominations, the most of any production of the season. The two Gershwin musicals, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Nice Work If You Can Get It, earned 10 nominations apiece.
