News PHOTO CALL: Starry Cast Show Their Addictions to Good Causes with Benefit Reading Martha Plimpton (16 Wounded), Jessica Hecht (After the Fall) and Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray) were among the starry cast for a benefit reading of playwright Tricia Walsh-Smith’s work Addictions at the Promenade Theatre on April 3.

Written by Smith after her brother— who was a life-long alcohol addict—committed suicide, Addictions brought together the talents of director Peter DuBois, actors Chris Sarandon, Trudie Styler and Peter Bartlett, in addition to Plimpton, Hecht and Hoffman, to benefit the Caron Treatment Centers for addiction. At left, James Earl Jones and Karen Ziemba are seen after the one-night only performance. Below, Plimpton, Smith and Claudia Shear (Dirty Blonde), as well as Lauren Vanoni Vernon, Hoffman and Cece Black are seen at the after party for Addictions, held at Ruby Foo's on Broadway.
