News PHOTO CALL: Sutton Foster, Seth Rudetsky and Cast Rehearse They're Playing Our Song Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, Seth Rudetsky and cast are currently in rehearsal for an Aug. 30 Actors Fund benefit performance of They're Playing Our Song.

Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Shrek, Trust) and Rudetsky will star as songwriters Sonia Walsk and Vernon Gersch, respectively, in the one-night-only concert Aug. 30 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre.

Denis Jones directs the 7:30 PM concert of the musical, which has a score by by Marvin Hamlisch and Carole Bayer Sager and a book by Neil Simon. Steve Freeman will be the musical director.

The musical is described this way: "When Vernon Gersch (Seth Rudestky), an established and wisecracking composer, takes on the kooky and offbeat lyricist Sonia Walsk (Sutton Foster) as his new collaborator, their initial match is a professional success but a personal disaster. Together, the two undergo a series of trials and overcome a number of hurdles before finding true love by the final curtain."

The Voices of Sonia Walsk will be performed by Amber Efé, Kaitlyn Davidson (Johnny Baseball) and Alex Ellis (Thoroughly Modern Millie). The Voices of Vernon Gersch will be sung by Tyler Maynard (Altar Boyz, The Little Mermaid), Matt Loehr (Promises, Promises) and Jesse Nager (Mamma Mia!).
