News PHOTO CALL: The 2010 GLAAD Media Awards The 2010 GLAAD Awards, hosted by Alan Cumming, were held at the Times Square Marriot Marquis March 13.

According to press materials, The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. Alan Cumming (Cabaret) emceed the New York component of the GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) honors. As a part of the March 13 ceremony, Tony Award-winning actress Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole, "Sex and the City") received the Vito Russo Award for her work to promote equal rights for members of the LGBT community.
