News PHOTO CALL: The 86th Academy Awards- Red Carpet Arrivals The 86th Academy Awards were presented March 2 in Los Angeles. The Disney animated musical "Frozen" won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film, while songwriters Robert and Kristen-Anderson Lopez took the honor for Best Original Song.

Ellen DeGeneres hosted the Academy Awards, which were presented at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. 

Produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, the evening featured several performances of interest to theatre fans. Tony winner Idina Menzel performed the Oscar-winning song "Let It Go" from "Frozen," while Oscar nominee and Grammy winner Bette Midler, who was recently on Broadway in I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers, performed on the Academy Awards for the first time (singing "Wind Beneath My Wings").
