News PHOTO CALL: The Lieutenant of Inishmore Marches Into New York with Atlantic Opening Playwright Martin McDonagh, who scored a major hit with last season's fanciful The Pillowman, brings a new kind of terror to the New York stage with the opening of the Atlantic Theater Company's production of his play The Lieutenant of Inishmore.

Not one to shy away from putting gore and savagery in front of an audience, McDonagh uses Inishmore to satirize the complicated and highly violent world of domestic terrorist groups such as the IRA in Ireland.

At left, McDonagh and fellow playwright John Patrick Shanley, as well as Brian F. O'Byrne, Michael Mayer and Tom Hulce are seen after the show. Below, director Wilson Milam and McDonagh join cast members Brian d'Arcy James, Andrew Connolly, Kerry Condon, Jeff Binder, Domhnall Gleeson and Peter Gerety at the opening night party for The Lieutenant of Inishmore at Strata, located at 915 Broadway in New York City.
