News PHOTO CALL: The Sphinx Winx, With Bruce Sabath, Bret Shuford and Erika Amato, Opens Off-Broadway Bruce Sabath (Hello Again) is Julius Caesar, Bret Shuford (The Little Mermaid) is Marc Antony and Erika Amato is Cleopatra in the new musical comedy The Sphinx Winx, which opened Off-Broadway May 18 following previews from May 3.

Matthew Hamel directs. "With the kingdom of Egypt horribly in arrears to the Roman government due to Caesar's frivolous spending on lavish gifts for his Queen of the Nile, Marc Antony arrives to uncover the cause and mete out justice," according to the producers. "When the court's Soothsayer mistakenly forecasts that Antony will fall in love with Cleopatra, he unwittingly sets into motion a series of comic events the likes of which won't be found in any history books."

Tifft Productions, in association with La Vie Productions, presents the musical, written by Philip Capice, Anne Hitchner and Robert Keuch (book and lyrics) and Kenneth Hitchner Jr. (music). Performances play Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre at 410 W. 42nd Street in Manhattan. A 12-week run is scheduled.

The cast of The Sphinx Winx also includes Rebecca Riker, Beth Cheryl Tarnow and Ryan Williams. The production team includes choreographer Tara Jeanne Vallee, musical director and arranger Jeffrey Lodin, Robert Kovach (scenic design), Gail Baldoni (costume design), Annmarie Duggan (lighting design) and David Lawson (sound design) and Doug Katsaros (orchestrations).

Performances are scheduled through July 24. The Sphinx Winx will play Tuesdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays-Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.

Tickets are $56.25 (or $80 for premium seating) and can be purchased through Telecharge.com or at (212) 239-6200.

Additionally, there will be a limited number of $20 rush tickets available at the Theatre Row Box Office, cash only, one hour before each performance.
