Fey ("30 Rock"), who is also at work on a musical adaptation of her film "Mean Girls," played Rachel in a cast that also featured Esper (The Lyons, American Idiot) as Tom/Tom Jr./Man in Ski Mask, Academy Award nominee Shannon (Grace, "Revolutionary Road") as Lloyd, Jenni Barber (Annie, The Nance) as Doctors 1-6, Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Mr. Burns a Post Electric Play) as Pooty/Sue and Tony nominee Daniel Breaker (Shrek, Passing Strange) as Tim Timko/Roy/Talk Show Host.
The evening was produced by The Indigo Theatre Project, "a theatre company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing high-profile readings of notable plays to benefit charities aligned with the work being read." Safe Horizon is "the largest organization of its kind in the United States that helps victims overcome crisis and become survives as they restore their lives." Shoshana Feinstein and Allison Bressi also produce the reading.
Here's how it's billed: "Reckless follows the journey of Rachel (Fey), a housewife who discovers one fateful Christmas Eve that her husband has hired a hit-man to kill her, sending her out the window and on an unusual series of misadventures. Told with the signature dark humor of Craig Lucas, Reckless is a deeply moving story about running away from crisis and running toward yourself."
