News PHOTO CALL: Tony Winning Friends Join Barbara Cook for Opening at Café Carlyle Barbara Cook, the well-known stage performer and favorite interpreter of songs by Stephen Sondheim, opened yet another cabaret act of April 12 at New York City’s popular venue the Café Carlyle.

Cook has appeared on Broadway 18 times in various concert engagements and full productions since 1951. Her most recent appearance on the Great White Way was at this time last year in Barbara Cook’s Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center. Below, Tony Award winners Tommy Tune and Donna Murphy, along with performer Andrea Marcovicci, are seen with Cook after the opening night performance at the Cafe Carlyle on Madison Avenue and 76th Street on New York’s Upper East Side.
