News PHOTO CALL: Waiting in the Wings For Lauren Bacall and Rosemary Harris, Oct. 12 Two acting legends, Rosemary Harris and Lauren Bacall, will face off as rival actresses in a retirement home in the upcoming Broadway production of Noel Coward's Waiting in the Wings, which began rehearsals Oct. 12. Harris most recently appeared on Broadway in A Delicate Balance for which she was nominated for a Tony Award (she won the honor in 1966's The Lion in Winter). Bacall won two Tonys herself for the musicals Woman of the Year and Applause and is, of course, best known for partnering Humphrey Bogart in "To Have and Have Not" and "Key Largo" as well as becoming his real life wife.

Two acting legends, Rosemary Harris and Lauren Bacall, will face off as rival actresses in a retirement home in the upcoming Broadway production of Noel Coward's Waiting in the Wings, which began rehearsals Oct. 12. Harris most recently appeared on Broadway in A Delicate Balance for which she was nominated for a Tony Award (she won the honor in 1966's The Lion in Winter). Bacall won two Tonys herself for the musicals Woman of the Year and Applause and is, of course, best known for partnering Humphrey Bogart in "To Have and Have Not" and "Key Largo" as well as becoming his real life wife. Waiting in the Wings, about a retirement home for old actresses, will preview at Boston's Colonial Theatre Nov. 13-28. The Dec. 16 New York opening will coincide with the 100th birthday of its author, playwright-composer singer-actor bon vivant Coward.
