News PHOTO CALL: Whoopi Goldberg Dons the Habit in London's Sister Act Academy Award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in the hit 1992 film "Sister Act," began a limited run as Mother Superior in the London musical of the same title Aug. 10 at the Palladium Theatre.

Goldberg is also a producer of the stage production that features a score by Academy Award winner Alan Menken and Glenn Slater and a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner. The tuner will arrive on Broadway in early 2011 under the direction of Tony winner Jerry Zaks.

American actress Patina Renea Miller, who starred in Hair at the Delacorte Theater, portrays Deloris Van Cartier. The principal cast also includes Simon Webbe as Curtis Shank and Ian Lavender as Monsignor, Ako Mitchell as Eddie, Katie Rowley Jones as Sister Mary Robert, Claire Greenway as Sister Mary Patrick, Jacqueline Clarke as Sister Mary Lazarus, Nicholas Colicos as Bones, Thomas Goodridge as TJ and Ivan De Freitas as Dinero.
