Tony Award winner Leavel joined the musical in the role of Frau Blucher (succeeding original star Andrea Martin). Ragusa recently replaced Megan Mullally in the role of Dr. Frankenstein's girlfriend Elizabeth, and Sullivan took over the role of Inga when Sutton Foster left the show earlier this summer.
Young Frankenstein features a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Brooks. The show earned the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Broadway Musical.
Based on the Academy Award-nominated 1974 film of the same name, Young Frankenstein is "the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks," according to the show's producers.
The original male leads — Roger Bart in the title role, Shuler Hensley as the monster, Fred Applegate as Inspector Kemp/Hermit and Christopher Fitzgerald as Igor — remain with the production.
