Photos PHOTO EXCLUSIVE: A Day at Paper Mill With Thoroughly Modern Millie Star Laurie Veldheer Laurie Veldheer (Broadway's Newsies) is spending the month at Paper Mill Playhouse, taking on the title role in the Tony-winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. She teamed with castmate/photographer Billy Bustamante to share a recent two-show day at the famed New Jersey venue.

Directed by Mark S. Hoebee with choreography by Denis Jones, performances will continue through May 5.

The cast of the musical comprises Ashley Kate Adams (Miss Dorothy Brown), Brenda Braxton (Muzzy Van Hossmere), Billy Bustamante (Bun Foo), Jeff Kready (Jimmy Smith), Burke Moses (Mr. Trevor Graydon), Lenora Nemetz (Mrs. Meers), James Seol (Ching Ho), Jessica Sheridan (Miss Flannery) and Laurie Veldheer (Millie Dillmount) with Carleigh Bettiol, Craig Blake, Barry Busby, Darien Crago, Patch David, Ian DeVine, Charlie Johnson, Ian Liberto, Sarah Meahl, Lizzy Palmer, Kristyn Pope, Kelly Skidmore, Amy Van Norstrand and John T. Wolfe.

Thoroughly Modern Millie features a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori and new lyrics by Scanlan. The original story and screenplay were penned by Richard Morris for the Universal Pictures Film. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a co-production with Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Jupiter, FL, where it played earlier this spring.

Paper Mill describes the show as an "effervescent musical romp that will have you dancing the Charleston. It's the Roaring Twenties, and young Millie Dillmount has just arrived in New York City, a place filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, and a dragon lady of a villainess." The production has scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Randy Hansen and hair and wig design by Rob Greene and J. Jared Janas. Helen Gregory serves as music director; production stage manager is Andrea Cibelli.
