My mornings usually begin in my hometown of Bristol, Pennsylvania. From there I take a Septa train to Trenton...

...and then a New Jersey transit train to New York.

You might think that the commute is a little extensive, (and youʼd be right) but the trains give me a chance to work on the script and shake any cobwebs that the morning brings.

I get by with a little help from my friends; aka my routine breakfast (sorry, mom).
Riding the train also gives me a chance to listen to new music and get me in the mood for the day.

But once I get into the city, I like to switch it up a bit.

Because personally, nothing makes me feel taller than listening to "Watch the Throne" while walking through Manhattan.

Hereʼs me with our costume designer, Gali. She loves when I say her name REALLY loud. Which is what Iʼm doing in this picture.

My entrances and exits mainly occur via Samʼs bedroom. So this is where I post-up backstage.

On our lunch breaks, I like to walk across the street, have a picnic, and take in the scenery.

Actually, Iʼm sorry, I lied. I only took the shot for this write-up. During lunch I usually eat on stage and then take a nap... on stage. And no one wants to see that. But I will definitely try doing the picnic stuff more. Sorry again for lying.

Let me introduce you! Working on this show has been such an amazing experience. I feel very fortunate to be working with some of the nicest actors in the biz. So much so that I thought Iʼd share a few candid photos of me with my new family.

This is WIll! He plays “Oz” in the show. He and I are dressing room roommates! He and I have the most fun being roomies. I always try out my newest knock knock jokes on him (try to average six a day).

Hereʼs me hangin with the totally amazing Didi OʼConnell. I had no idea she liked Vogue as much as I did! Just another topic to add to our girl talks. I do most of the talking, Didiʼs a great listener.

Here's me with my “Dad” Jeff DeMunn! We were in the middle of going over a scene. Jeff said, “Charlie, I don't want to be rude, but the camera phone's a little distracting.” To which I replied “Jeff I think you skipped a line."

Here's my big sis “Sue” played by Justine Lupe! Justine is a huge inspiration to me. Whenever I tried getting a picture with her, she'd say “I'm working right now, Charlie.” I must've asked her like fifteen times. Now that's dedication.

And finally the man himself, Mr. Philip Seymour Hoffman. Phil's such a great director. He really knows how to get a performance out of me. Today he said “We're going to try an exercise all rehearsal where you and I don't make eye contact. Please."

Well, I hope you guys had fun seeing what a typical day at rehearsal is like for me! I also hope that you will all come see us at The Bank Street Theatre in the West Village.
Labyrinth Theater Company's production of Bob Glaudini's A Family for All Occasions, which is directed by former Labyrinth co-artistic director Philip Seymour Hoffman, began performances April 25 Off-Broadway.
Opening night was May 12 at the Bank Street Theater.
The cast comprises Jeffrey DeMunn (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, “The Walking Dead”), William Jackson Harper (Modern Terrorism, Ruined), Justine Lupe (Not Fade Away, “Harry’s Law”), Labyrinth Company member Deirdre O’Connell (Thinner Than Water, Circle Mirror Transformation) and Charlie Saxton (Movie 43, “Hung”).
"Howard could use some decent conversation," according to press notes. "At the outset of his retirement, when he'd rather be enjoying the simple things in life, he's stuck dealing with his disconcerting, promiscuous daughter, his computer-obsessed, reclusive son, and his vastly overtired second wife. It's only when his daughter's latest suitor drops by after a hazy night that a family on edge is delivered to its inevitable, unforeseen fate."
The production also features scenic design by David Meyer, costume design by Gali Noy, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Jill B.C. DuBoff.
