"Dear Playbill Readers," writes Silber. "I'm baaaaack. Again. It is hard to resist really, when you all are so enthusiastic. So here we are: A One-Person, Two-Show Day, in Three... (okay, THIRTY SEVEN) parts. Ta daaaaaa! Welcome to Arlington at the Vineyard Theatre!"
The musical, which continues performances through March 23, features book and lyrics by playwright and novelist Lodato and music by Pen.
Directed by Carolyn Cantor, Arlington stars Silber (Hello Again, Master Class) as Sara Jane, who is described as "a young wife who valiantly tries to remain hopeful while her husband is away at war, despite a growing concern that something is not quite right."
Arlington marks a reunion for the Vineyard and Pen, whose musicals Goblin Market, Bed And Sofa and Christina Alberta's Father made their debuts at the Off-Broadway venue. Her works also include The Night Governess, Her Lightness, The Dumb Cake and Embarrassments.
Lodato's works include 3F, 4F; Motherhouse;Wildlife;Dear Sara Jane;The Bread Of Winter; Margo and Zelda; and Slay The Dragon.
Arlington features set design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau and sound design by Dan Moses Schreier. The production stage manager is Megan Smith, and the music director is Moss.
