Ian Bell directed the Dec. 17-22 engagement of Hedwig, which played the Moore Theatre. Hoffer starred in Hedwig for the Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group earlier this year. The companies also presented the encore staging.
Hoffer was joined by Erin Stewart as Yitzhak. The members of the "Angry Inch" included musicians from the Seattle bands The Walkabouts, 1uppers, Zony Mash and Swallow. Hedwig has a book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask.
The musical centers on "Hedwig Schmidt, the transgender rock-and-roll goddess who recounts her outrageous life story as the lead singer of a sleazy lounge act, backed by her recalcitrant husband Yitzhak and her band, 'The Angry Inch.'"
Hoffer appeared as the lead dancer in the world's largest drag queen chorus line, which made the Guinness Book of World Records. Hoffer's other credits include Balagan Theatre's Spring Awakening, The 5th Avenue Theatre's Rent and Hairspray in concert.
The Max Martin musical features a number of his most beloved songs, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Roar,” “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and more.
