The 1907 opera, which has a libretto by Maurice Maeterlinck, is a setting of the Bluebeard story, more famously told in Bart‹k's Duke Bluebeard's Castle

Renate Behle stars in the challenging role of Ariane. The cast also includes Ursula Ferri as La Nourrice, Laura Vlasak Nolen as Selysette, Georgia Jarman as M_lisande, Amanda Borst as Bellangere, Julianne Borg as Ygraine, Ethan Herschenfeld as Barbe-Bleue, Laura Knight-Keating as Alladine, and Lawrence Long as Un Vieux Paysan.

American Symphony Orchestra music director Leon Botstein, a specialist in 20th-century rarities, is the conductor.

Paul-Emile Fourny is the director. Set and costumes are by Louis D_sir_; lighting is by Jeff Harris.
