That same production (of which we offer some photos below) is now running at Opera Theater of St. Louis, the company Graham led to international renown during his two decades as artistic director. And the reviews of Anna Karenina have been very approving, in Florida and in Missouri alike.
The cast made the move from Miami to St. Louis largely intact, with soprano Kelly Kaduce as Anna, Robert Gierlach as Vronsky, Christian Van Horn as Karenin, Brandon Jovanovich as Levin, Sarah Coburn as Kitty, Christine Abraham as Dolly and veteran Rosalind Elias as Agafia. Conducting is Stewart Robertson, music director of Florida Grand Opera.
Anna Karenina has two further performances by Opera Theater of St. Louis, tomorrow and June 21 at 8 p.m., at the Loretto-Hilton Center on the campus of Webster University in St. Louis. Details and tickets are available at www.opera-stl.org.
