The libretto is drawn from Rainer Fassbinder's play about a fashion designer who becomes involved in with a model.
The cast includes Stephanie Friede in the title role; Rebecca von Lipinski as the model, Karin Thimm; Linda Kitchen as Marlene; Kathryn Harries as Valerie von Kant; Barbara Hannigan as Gabrielle von Kant; and Susan Bickley as Sidonie von Grasenabb.
ENO's production runs through October 7.
