News PHOTO RECALL: National Presents a Hare-Raising Politcal Play The polarizing nature of the presidential election provided much fodder for playwrights across the country in 2004. However, perhaps the most searing indictment of the Bush administration came from London, where the National Theatre staged David Hare's charged new work Stuff Happens.

The play took its title from a now infamous quote by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfield whom uttered the phrase in response to questions about the looting of Baghdad hours after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. American actor Joe Morton traveled the great pond to portray Secretary of State Colin Powell. Negotiations to bring the production to the States are still on-going. View next photo
