The "Broad" in Off-Broadway became more prominent when New York Theatre Workshop's production of Dirty Blonde opened Jan. 10. In playwright-performer Claudia Shear's play about two single New Yorkers who meet at Mae West's grave site.
The cast also included Bob Stillman and Kevin Chamberlin, who left the production to star in Seussical. (Kathy Najimy was recently announced as Shear's replacement, when she leaves the role Jan. 7.)
The new play, now on Broadway via Second Stage, stars Jessica Lange, Jim Parsons, and Celia Keenan-Bolger.
Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada lead the cast of the book-to-stage adaptation.
