News PHOTO RECALL: The Frogs Head for Dry-Land at the Vivian Beaumont Continuing his near domination of the boards this year, Stephen Sondheim saw the first major production of his quirky piece The Frogs come to fruition at the hands of Susan Stroman and Nathan Lane at Lincoln Center.

Famously staged in its original incarnation in the swimming pool at Yale University in 1974, The Frogs takes its inspiration from the Aristophanes play of the same name. Lane updated the script, his first foray into musical theatre writing, which pits George Bernard Shaw against Shakespeare in a battle royale of wits.
