DiPietro (Memphis, Toxic Avenger) and Ziegler (BFF, Life Science) will be joined by playwrights Aladdin Ullah and Zohar Tirosh for the play development program that runs July 9-Aug. 1.
The Project will launch with Six by Zohar Tirosh. Ian Morgan directs the work in which "a jet-lagged, sun-drenched, six-day trip to contemporary Israel collides with family, politics and the Six-Day War." (July 9-11).
Following will be DiPietro's Creating Claire, which is described as "an exploration of the supernova that results when science, faith and politics collide." (July 16-18).
CCTP will also present the workshop of Ziegler's Photograph 51, which is "based on the true story of Rosalind Franklin and her unaccredited contribution to the discovery of DNA's double helix." (July 23-25).
The final workshop will be Indio, written and performed by Aladdin Ullah. Hal Brooks will direct the presentation in which "Aladdin rejects the legacy of his immigrant parents, until a PBS documentary forces him to uncover the journey of his father, Habib. Habib's misadventures in the land of opportunity are juxtaposed with Aladdin's childhood growing up in the only Bangladeshi family in Spanish Harlem." (July 30-Aug. 1). Casting for the 2009 Cape Cod Theatre Project will be announced shortly.
The Cape Cod Theatre Project is located in Falmouth, MA. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at (508) 457-4242 or online at www.capecodtheatreproject.org
