Manhattan Theatre Club's Off-Broadway world premiere of John Patrick Shanley's new play Brooklyn Laundry officially opened at New York City Center's Stage I February 28 after beginning previews February 6. Shanley is also directing.

SNL and Schmigadoon! alum Cecily Strong stars as Fran, opposite David Zayas (Cost of Living) as Owen, Florencia Lozano (One Life to Live) as Trish, and Andrea Syglowski (Pass Over) as Susie. Understudies Janie Brookshire, Adriana DeMeo, and Alfredo Diaz round out the company.

The work centers on three sisters and a guy who run a Brooklyn laundry, and the "savage tricks life plays on them," according to press notes.

The world premiere features scenic design by Santo Loquasto, costume design by Suzy Benzinger, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and original music and sound design by John Gromada. Casting is by Kelly Gillespie of Caparelliotis Casting.
