Terry Kinney (Beautiful Child) directs the Lab Production Series presentation which will workshop December 8-22 at the downtown Manhattan company's home. In the dark comedy, actress Clark will play "an ambitious actress married to a desperate playwright" (played by playwright Silver himself). The special developmental production will be open to Vineyard Theatre members only.

Clark earned her 2005 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her turn as the matriarch Margaret Johnson in The Light in the Piazza. The actress, known for her turns on Broadway in Titanic and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, has also appeared in Urinetown, Cabaret, A Grand Night for Singing and Guys and Dolls.

The company's 25th season opens with the upcoming production of Anne Washburn's The Internationalist starring "Law & Order" actress Annie Parisse (Oct. 19-Nov. 26) and continues with Tina Landau's staging of J.M. Barrie's Mary Rose (January/February 2007). A fourth production (to play in the spring of 2007) is yet to be announced.
