News Pics! Original Matilda Star Oona Laurence Promotes New Film "Lamb" Oona Laurence, original star of Matilda The Musical, promoted "Lamb," her new independent film with Ross Partridge, at Planet Hollywood on Jan. 5. Ross was also on hand for the photo op and memorabilia presentation.

The film adaptation of Bonnie Nadzam's debut novel was written and is directed by Ross Partridge.

Partridge stars as David Lamb, a man on a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies on a mission of self-discovery after his father dies and his marriage ends.

Oona Laurence, who received a Special Tony Award for her performance as the precocious title character in Matilda The Musical, plays an 11-year-old girl named Tommie, who is described as awkward and unpopular and whom David is determined to help. Jess Weixler ("The Good Wife," "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby") is also featured in the cast.

Laurence has appeared in "A Little Game," "Louie" and "The Grief of Others." Partridge co-created the web series "Wedlock," starring Rob Corddry, with Mark Duplass.

The film will have a limited release on Jan. 8 and will appear on VOD on Jan. 12. The film is being distributed by The Orchard.
