Classic Arts News Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Emanuel Ax Appear Dec. 9 in New York Philharmonic's 'Insight: Pianists on Beethoven' Series Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Emanuel Ax, who are two of the five artists performing Beethoven piano concertos with the New York Philharmonic this season, will be the featured guests this Sunday (Dec. 9) in the Philharmonic's discussion series "Insights: Pianists on Beethoven."
The two artists will talk about the joys and challenges of performing the great composer's music, and Ax will play a Beethoven piano sonata.

The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 in the Lynch Theater at John Jay College, 59th Street and Tenth Avenue in Manhattan. Information and tickets, which cost $25, are available at www.nyphil.org.

Aimard is performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 on this week's Philharmonic subscription program under conductor Philippe Jordan, who is making his Philharmonic debut. There is one remaining performance, tomorrow at 8 p.m.
